Ford Rouge Factory Tour

This morning Kevin and I went on the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. It was cool. It started off with a movie about Henry Ford and how he built Ford Motor Company. Then we moved to another room full of swivel chairs and we watched a 360 degree multisensory movie showing how trucks are made. Then we went up to the observation deck where we were allowed to take some pictures. Ford has a living roof. They planted sedum on the roof. Its supposed to be better for the roof and environmentally friendly.

After the observation deck we walked through the truck plant final assembly line. We couldn't take pics in there. :) Then we went through the little visitor center area, and of course no tour like this is complete without visiting the visitor store! They always have the best books! :)

On the surface it looks like a great field trip. Would you ever take students there?

Well, it was fun, but I could see the multisensory movie being a little scary. It would go great with the MI fourth grade curriculum, but I don't know that the kids would really enjoy it. I'd say the museum and the village would be better for kids.

Ah, who are these two cute kids? I love these pics. Already knew about the Rouge tour, but nice to see the two of you:)
